My project, "Scars," is about people who are damaged or disfigured in private areas of their bodies and how they deal with moments of intimate revelation.
Scars uses HD videofilm, high fidelity audio and high-resolution digital photography to investigate this phenomenon.
Although it was not my intention, some participants in the project have said that the experience of appearing naked on camera in my studio has given them power over their scars.
Audiences will experience Scars via gallery installations, cinema and on the web. Besides filming and editing the project, I'm designing a three-chambered multimedia (stills, projection and audio) installation site and an interactive web environment.
